Why Do We Need to Use Our Chakras?
Chakras are our gifts; gifts to enhance our physical, mental, and spiritual lives. As I have stated in my book, Chakra Basics: Fundamentals of Spiritual Growth, these gifts don’t help us unless we take them out of the box and experience them.
Chakras are our energy source; like any energy source, they must be used and maintained to continue to function properly. If an engine is not oiled and maintained, it can rust or freeze up. This applies to our chakras as well.
Every physical or mental dysfunction, such as disease or disorders, first starts with an emotional issue that becomes trapped in our energy systems, the chakras. This has been proven many times by science that “mind over matter” can heal even terminal conditions.
Let’s look at each individual chakra and how being rusty or frozen-up can cause physical disorders:
- Crown chakra – it is through this chakra that we receive Divine intelligence and Universal wisdom. If there are any blockages to this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include, thinking and reasoning problems, lack of mental clarity, and Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, just to name a few. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include stubbornness, dogmatic, and closed-off to new ideas and concepts.
- Third-Eye chakra – it is in this chakra that we examine ourselves and interpret the Divine intelligence that enters the crown chakra. If there are any blockages to this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include, all forms of headaches and eye problems, as well as closed off to positive experiences. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include negative and doom-and-gloom attitudes.
- Throat Chakra – it is through this chakra that we can speak our truth. Living in integrity has become a lost art. If there are any blockages to this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include, blaming others for our own choices and not telling the truth. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include not being open to what others have to say and believing that you are saying the truth so you have a right to say it regardless of the consequences to others.
- Heart Chakra – it is through this chakra that we love ourselves and the Divine in others; that we see the oneness in all of life. If there are any blockages in this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include, heart problems and dysfunctional relationships, to name a few. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include believing that you are separate from others and that you are unworthy or unlovable.
- Solar Plexus Chakra – it is in this chakra that we accept ourselves, our past, present, and future. If there are any blockages in this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include gall bladder and liver problems and self-esteem issues. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include not wanting to know the truth and believing that you can’t do or be what you choose to do or be.
- Sacral Chakra – it is in this chakra that we discover our preferences and creativity. If there are any blockages in this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include weight problems and an inability to experience joy. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include false convictions and following the crowd even when you do not believe in the dogma of that group.
- Root Chakra – it is in this chakra that we accept where we came from without letting it define us. If there are any blockages in this chakra, we will find that some physical symptoms include colon and bowel dysfunction and inability to form lasting relationships. Thought patterns that cause this chakra to become blocked include excessive worry and fear and trying to please others in spite of our convictions.
The above lists are not inclusive but a primer for your basic understanding of why we need to work with and use these blessed gifts from the Universe.
Stay tuned for more next week.
