What are Charkras?
Throughout the ages and each individual’s life, we and our world, experience an ebb and flow like the tide. The waves come in, they flow out again. We plunge into love, we fall out of love. We learn things and we forget things.
Whether the information about chakras was lost, forgotten, or hidden doesn’t really matter; it receded. What does matter is that the flow of knowledge has returned. A new and renewed interest is with us and we can take advantage of that revival to develop a strong connection to our Creator. After all, we were made in the Creator’s image.
So what are chakras?
The simple definition for chakras (pronounced Shock-Ruhs) is “the energy wheels of the body”. The language of origin is Sanskrit and translates to “wheels” or “turning”. The information about chakras is over 5,000 years old and yet today we treat it as something “new” or unusual.
The most significant aspect of the chakras should be immediately evident – energy wheels. When we experience an important event or emotion in our lives that leave us depleted, rather than reach for an energy drink we could instead work with our chakras to revive the energy of the body, mind, and soul.
There are seven major chakras:
1. The Crown – it sits on top of the head and is our connection to Divine intelligence, a direct link to Universal Mind.
2. The Third-Eye (sometimes called the brow chakra) – it sits between the two eyebrows and influences our ability to see clearly.
3. The Throat – it rests on the Adam’s apple or is in the hollow spot on the throat and has authority over the truth we speak and hear.
4. The Heart – is located in the same region as the physical heart and it shouldn’t be a surprise that it is positioned directly in the middle of the three spiritual chakras above it and the three physical chakras below it. The heart chakra stimulates love of ourselves and the Divine.
5. The Solar Plexus – sits under the breast bone and above the waist and affects our understanding and acceptance of self.
6. The Sacral – rests in the cavity between the pelvic bones on both males and females and inspires creativity and personal preferences.
7. The Root – is located at the base of the spine in the perineum area and impacts family, work, and the basics of survival (food, shelter, and clothing
From reading over the above list and factoring in that each chakra is an energy wheel (an energy source providing fuel), perhaps the dots are connecting that when we have trouble or dysfunction in any of the areas governed by a particular chakra it could be that the energy wheel has a malfunction or has become blocked or imbalanced. Taking that a step further, can it be fixed? Is there anything that we can do to correct imbalances in our chakra system.
The answer is YES! The energy wheels and their Divine connection can be repaired, renewed, and rejuvenated.
Stay tuned for more next week...
Love and light,
Chariss
